In ~120 hours of handwork, spread over the last four weeks, I completed my pencil drawing 'Bitcoin - Paradigm Shift' on block 801511.
 
Bitcoin, the trigger for an upheaval, a complete change in the worldview of an entire civilization: I divided the composition of the drawing into two halves.
 
The lower representative of our current fiat money system, based on increasing exploitation, taxes, over-regulation, bureaucracy, debt, inflation, war and power. The top half shows the necessity of Bitcoin and what to me is the most important core element of Bitcoin - besides proof-of-work and decentralization: its monetary policy, which is immutable for eternity, the inflation plan.
 
Prominently placed I have an entity that internalizes a very desperate, exhausted, downright lethargic and listless impression. It is supposed to represent modern man in the age of state-controlled money. Grasping a pile of dollar banknotes with one arm, leaning against a wall with the other and dropping bills, this figure is supposed to express exhaustion by the system with all its insidiousness.
 
On the robe I have engraved the word 'TRUTH' bleeding out. The truth, how money should be for a civilization, at all what money is in the first place, the meaning of money, a medium for the conservation of one's own lifetime and what an enormous role all this plays, what concatenations result from it, can hardly be recognized anymore. Engraved on the wall is 'MORALITY DIED IN 1971'. With allusion to the 'temporary' suspension of the gold standard on August 15 of that year, it became possible in the coming decades that extremely much suffering, poverty, mass animal husbandry and exploitation takes place.
 
I am quite aware that in the course of human history there were several dates marked by unspeakable suffering and I do not want to reduce them in their importance, but the enabling of infinite paper money is not only a huge sword of Damocles of the last 50 years, but one of the future, which is getting sharper and sharper. Crawling around the wall are individuals wandering aimlessly in all directions. Some pointing their fingers at that which is able to end their suffering and exhaustion.
 
These figures are meant to represent helplessness, chaos, aimlessness. A compass missing in life because the needle can not calibrate, not knowing itself what its task is. Even the angels are indignant about the ocularly unsalvageable situation into which man has maneuvered himself with his more and more opaque and dysbalanced money system.
 
Beneath the cliff dripping with oil is engraved in a footnote 'CHANCELLOR ON BRICK OF SECOND BAILOUT FOR BANKS'. The headline that gives the solution to arguably the biggest problem of the modern era a reason to exist and would immortalize Satoshi Nakamoto in the Genesis Block on Jan. 3, 2009. With the block 0 of the Bitcoin Blockchain, a monetary system, a network of mathematical and physical masterstroke was put into the world in 2009, which will never disappear.
 
Centrally in the upper half I placed an angel of triumph holding two banners in his hands. The banner of the fiat debt money system and the Bitcoin banner. Raising his head, he chooses the banner of bitcoin and lowers his other hand. The victory banner is decorated with the inscriptions 'BITCOIN - 21000000 - SCARCITY - ENERGY -TIME'.
 
Mathematics and physics that define how not only a good, meaningful money must be, but how the whole universe works. From the single cell, to the galaxy supercluster. Enthroned in the drawing is a large Bitcoin sign on a globe above everything.
 
From the Bitcoin sign, individual stripes spread down into the center of the image like rays of sunlight. These rays in their entirety carry all 32 halving periods, the years when they are expected to begin, and the associated block subsidies per halving epoch.
 
Bitcoin's sophisticated mathematical sequence, coupled with omnipresent time, I personally feel is one of the most grandiose inventions man could ever have produced. Surrounding it - as a kind of frame - I have illustrated a sequence of the blockchain, starting from the Genesis block, centered below. It winds clockwise around the scenery and disappears again at the bottom center.
 
With my drawings, I try to leave a little contemporary history for our descendants, who can literally get an idea of how we humans felt in the early years of this evolution of monetary energy, Bitcoin.
