In about 130 hours of handwork with 8 different pencils, I tried to express my passion for Bitcoin and its importance on a simple piece of paper.
The inspiration for this drawing came from a masterpiece of sculpture, the “Laocoön and His Sons”. Looking at the face of the dying Laocoön, together with his body language, awakens in me a deep sense of pain and suffering.
As a Bitcoiner, you naturally project everything into the structure of Bitcoin and so I came up with the idea of depicting human suffering as a whole through drawing. What suffering is greater than war and its consequences?
At the center is the suffering, desperate man, surrounded by masses of paper money, missiles and weapons. He points his finger almost helplessly to the sky. In his hopelessness, he points to the inscription “AS LONG AS FIAT KNOWS NO LIMIT, WAR KNOWS NO END” and in the same breath to Bitcoin and its monetary policy, which is the first real solution to ending wars financed by credit, robbery and inflation.
Inflation in particular - the creation of fresh money out of thin air - is a powerful way to finance ever more destructive wars. Inflation is nothing more than redistribution and serves as a tool for states in their greed for power. It can be said that the constant inflation of fiat money is man's own burden, burden, pain and ultimately his own grave. He is suffocating in his own flood of money.
In war, there are the peoples and the belligerent powers, who often use ideologically driven propaganda to instill the legitimacy to kill in the minds of their people. War for peace. There is probably no greater contradiction and there never will be.
People like to talk about Bitcoin as a waste of energy. If Bitcoin is a waste of energy, then what are the 56 terajoules of energy that were released over Hiroshima within 1 second and instantly pulverized 70,000 people? A flash of light that shattered time and ushered in the atomic age. After the climax of a catastrophic war that paralyzed the whole world, several more war crimes took place and it seems that man cannot peacefully share the same patch of living space as long as the possibility of creating money exists.
In 2008, another flash of light illuminated the world, but much more inconspicuously than in 1945. Satoshi Nakamoto published the first and only real possibility of recreating the human urge to create money - no matter how.
Absolute scarcity - a declaration of peace. Martin Luther King Jr. once said “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that”.
Man will never get rid of the desire for power through more power. Man will never get rid of war through war. Man will never get rid of the greed for money by printing money. It takes humanity, math and something beyond any human control. It needs Bitcoin.
